Great that you’re back in Iowa. Hope you enjoyed the Tulips!

No, it’s not Pella, but I did see the Pella tulip court on a float in the parade yesterday.
The tulips, by the way, are perfect this year. Still nothing like walking through the actual tulip fields in Holland though.

that´s so cool: I find it funny to see that Dutch Americans are more enthusiastic about these traditional Dutch things than the Dutch in Holland themselves! I would love to go to the American Tulip Festivals sometime. I´d put on my traditional Dutch outfit and represent Overijssel (my province), or something

Hi Eva! Do you actually have a traditional Dutch outfit?

Yes, I do. The whole deal. My grandma got it for me. It is terribly unflattering, but I wore it several times to the annual International Festival at my university.

So awesome! Our neighbors have a Pella connection (I know this isn’t Pella) and I’m anxious to go to the Tulip Festival next year. I think when people are far from their roots it makes them be a bit more gung-ho.

Cute! Is this in Pella? We used to live in Cedar Rapids and would drive down every Spring to see the tulips.
