Euro Cup 2008
Euro Cup is a soccer tournament for European nations, held every four years between the World Cup. Spain played Germany in the championship last night. We’ve been watching all the games together as a family. We watched one game at home, a couple in a bar down the street, a bunch at the beach house [...]

I saved $1,923.89 using cloth diapers
One of the reasons we use cloth diapers is to save money. I’ve been curious to know how much we’ve saved in Alleke’s first two years, so I crunched the numbers. Cloth Diaper CostsIndian Cotton Prefolds (infant size) – $2.25 x 20 = $45Chinese Cotton Prefolds (premium size) – $2.75 x 20 = $55Proraps Classic [...]

Bathroom Humor
I’ll admit it. I do most of my reading in the bathroom. So it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when Alleke sat down next to me on her little potty, said “book,” and waited for me to pass her some reading material.

Toddler, 2.0

To clarify, Alleke pointed at Aunt Heidi. “Heidi,” she said, then stuck her fingers in her ears. Heidi smiled. “iPod,” Heidi said. “She’s saying [...]

Shower
Alleke stood at the edge of the bath tub and watched as I unhooked the shower head, turned on the water, and rinsed out the inside of the tub. When I finished, she reached for the shower head. “You can hold it,” I said, “just don’t get your clothes wet because we’re going to put [...]

Obsession
April’s 28th Birthday Party Alleke sat quietly on her mom’s lap when the lights went off and everyone began to sing. It wasn’t until after the cake went up in smoke and the room filled with laughter that she lunged for her mom’s neck. If you had asked me, I would have told you Alleke [...]
