¿Cómo te llamas?
I stood at the front door of the shop and looked around.
Then I spotted her.
Alleke had run off the street into a lingerie shop and was already at the back at the cash register where a woman was bent down next to her.
The woman saw me at the front door and smiled. As I walked over, I heard her ask Alleke, “Cómo te llamas?”
I was about to explain that my daughter didn’t understand the question when Alleke interrupted my thought.
“Al-ka” she said, lifting her chin.
I stopped and frowned.
The woman nodded. “That’s a pretty name,” she said.

Smart little cookie… like her mommy and daddy!
That is so awesome! I’m sure she will continue to pick up those spanish phrases..its the best time to learn it, before she gets old like us and has to work hard at memorizing. What a cutie!

My bro’s kids in Germany have the best German. If he is anything to go by (excellent german speaker) you’ll be learning from your kids in future!
It’s amazing how quickly children can pick up language. That’s what they’re built for.

I figure it’s a good investment for the whole family. When Alleke is three years old and fluent in Spanish, she can start teaching us what she knows, and we won’t have to pay for Spanish classes anymore!
Hi there, this is the fist time I’ve seen this blog and it’s lovely!
I’m a native Spanish speaker but live in the UK, I just hope our children will learn Spanish as well as Alleke! (beautiful name by the way)

Wow…you under estimate your daughter. I’m sure at her age she’s absorbing Spanish like a sponge. She’ll surprise you more each day.
