Cloth Diapers

Very Baby Cloth Diaper Covers

I’ve discovered it’s difficult to have an intelligent conversation about cloth diapers when they come with names like these…

Fuzzi Bunz
Happy Heinys
bumGenius
Snooty Booty
Wee Ones
Robin’s Fanny Fluff
Baby Softwear
Thirsties
Fussybutt
Kooshies
PouPond
Happy Hempy
Wiggle Worm
Rumpster
Nothing Butt Cloth
Bummis
The Bear Essentials
TrendyTush
Toot-Toots
Mother-ease
Bamboozle

Any favorites? I’m taken by Wee Ones and Happy Heinys.

As for daily use, we’re experimenting with Fuzzi Bunz, Kissaluvs, Proraps, Bummis and Baby Softwear. (Yes, we’re indecisive.)

Updated on 27 October 2007:
A number of people have written and asked April and I for advice about using cloth diapers, so I’ve put together a resource I hope you’ll find useful with Frequently Asked Questions about cloth diapers…

Do you need more to be indecisive about? My friend designs and sells the “Little Beetles”: http://www.betterforbabies.com I also tested the bumgenius and liked it quite bit.

Oh yeah, I forgot bumGenius. We tried those too :)

I have to admit, I like the Fuzzi Bunz and the bumGenius because they come in different colors. Important priorities, I know.

We love the Mother-ease. They are one size, so they will last basically forever, and they have never seen an overly enthusiastic defecation event they couldn’t contain. Then again, we haven’t really tried any others…

I like Toot Toots…I am a regular follower of your blog…so interesting and fun….and full of babies. As a new Grandmother, I like that!

Congratulations Rebecca!

I hope, for your sake, that your little one is closer to you than Alleke is (most of the time) to her grandparents. Iowa is a long ways from Spain!

I must admit that I have not heard of most of these, yet when I read Nothing Butt Cloth, I laughed out loud. It thought it was clever.
I am a friend of Chloe’s and read your blog through her’s. It is fun to hear the stories and learnings of a new parent.

BumGenius are good – I do wish they had a double leg gusset though. Too much space for a nasty diaper blowout, if you know what I mean… We just use the old-fashioned pre-folds and a prowrap cover. Works great!

By the way – I love your blog – a friend sent me the link and I’ve been keeping up with it since. My husband and I just had our first – she’s now 6 months old. A lot of what you write about strikes so close to home with us.

I’m in Jek’s corner!! I love the name Nothing Butt Cloth!! hahahaha it is the best!!!
I was styling as a wee tot in some pretty sweet white cloth diapers. (not that I remember). That way my mom could bleach out the A-bombs I left in them:) (Yeh I know bleach in abundance isn’t good for the environment.:) but it keeps your cute little lad or lass in some flashy white getup!:) Speaking of which I almost had to wear something of the sort down main street for my bachelor party! ALMOST!

My mind is spinning with all the cloth diaper options out there as well. So far, I have about 3 dozen prefolds and some prowrap covers…like one of the previous posters mentioned, the double leg gussets are supposed to be a good way to contain poo explosions. AND prefolds and prowraps are a relatively inexpensive system compared to the fancier diapers out there. Do they work? I guess I won’t know for another couple of months. :)

We went with the Fuzzibunz. Next closest thing convenience wise to disposable. I have to admit that cleaning out the poo is not a what I would call a fun adventure.

i’m the maker of TrendyTush and must say though all the names are cutsey we must be identified somehow. I’m honored to have been named in the list :) and intelligent conversation isn’t elusive with cutsey names i wouldn’t think.

I saw that someone said they were looking for diapers that had double gussets – have you seen the rump-a-rooz? The web page is just rumparooz.com

These diapers have REAL double gussets – just like sposies. I know they are the first ever cloth diaper to have them and so far the are the ONLY ones. I have 18 and they are my fav, fav, fav. I have purchased them in a round of 6 and then 12 because I instantly fell in love. And I loved my bum genius but sadly, these are way better and I sold off all my BG’s.

Check them out! And the mama who owns them is amazing. Her customer service is awesome.

Cheers!
