I guess I get to be the first to comment at how unbearable it is for a mums heart to watch a baby crying and not be able to do anything about it......I just want to give Ali a big hug now!!! She really is a cutie. Enjoy this first week...its a special time. Love Sophie ps..."Hi" to aunty Heather too!
Aren't newborn baths hard? Ezra hated them at first until we started taking him into the tub with us. He loved them then. Great job with your first Ali bath! They'll get much more fun!
mabrook - congratulations !!! she is so cute, am so happy for you guys!
you did a great job kelly, i would be so afraid to do such a job =)
when Kath sent me few pic.s for Ali, they made my day ! to watch this super cute vedio my heart was refreshed indeed (wallah)! hope she will grow in a peaceful world full of love and joy.
Great set o' lungs on that girl! Well done. One bath down, a lot more to come--hopefully, she'll enjoy them a lot more later. I'm so glad you provide this blog for me to feel like I'm right there with you. Wish I were! Laurie
This is so beautiful. But I'm pretty sure she's gonna whack you for putting this live on the net this when she grows up. Can't wait to get back to Iberia and meet that little one.
Whlst not wishing to appear unkind but... would in not be safer to bath the baby resting on a soft towel on a firm, surface whilst actually bathing the baby.
The way that the mother is holding the baby (correctly)is not an issue, but the height the baby is from (what appears to be) a very solid surface to a wash-hand basin seems dangerous to say the least! If (God for bid) the baby writhed out of the mother's arm....the thought doesn't need to be published !
Pratice makes perfect as they say. Great first attempt and trust that you all remain happy. Don't worry by the time little one is 7 years, the internet will probably have been replaced by another medium, and she will never know....

I didn't have sound, but by the look of it, it feels better when it stops...

My daughter's dad would never have been allowed (by me) to give her a bath this way...
What you are doing was performed by specialists at the hospital, and they were extremely kind.
I was a terrorist mother in the first days, and still am a fair bit...
From lovely dream father you just stepped into the kingdom of awkward male caregivers...
Newborns are SO delicate...
You did a great job Kelly! It will go like clockwork before you know it. You can bathe my kids any time! :)

Hang tough pal. Baths in the sink ain't all that uncommon. You'll get better, and she'll get used to it.
