El Misterio De La Vida: The Inside Story
Okay. So here’s the story. I put my foot in my mouth earlier this fall when I told one of April’s classmates in the Masters program, Laurie, that I like friends who give me presents. Apparently I have no shame about asking for hand-outs. Incidentally, Laurie has become a good friend of mine, and because [...]

Las Fallas
I checked online today to see when babies develop their sense of hearing before we’re headed to Valencia for Las Fallas, one of Spain’s most well-known festivals. Thankfully I discovered babies develop their sense of hearing at around 18 weeks. We still have a month and a half to go. This particular festival has a [...]

Lady Bug
Today we got our first baby present. Thanks, Laurie! It’s not a stuffed animal–it’s a stuffed bug. Even better, right? On the package it says, “Soft squeaker toy for baby’s amusement & delight.” The fun is just beginining. Squeak. Squeak.

Plaza de Olavide
This morning we visited a mediation school and an intercultural mediation group in Madrid. Afterwards, we had a few hours to kill, so we decided to look at a few neighborhoods we might like to live in next year. We walked to Plaza Mayor, got a map from the tourist office, and sat by one [...]

El Misterio De La Vida / The Mystery Of Life
I’m a visual person. Every week I wonder what our baby looks like now. Week 10. The baby is just over an inch long. Weighs only as much as four paper clips. Finger and toes are formed. The tail is disappearing. I’ve been looking for this book called El Misterio de la Vida that our [...]
