Third Culture Kids

Most people I've talked to have never heard of a "third culture kid." Well, April and I are raising two of them!

In a nutshell, Alleke and Teo are third culture kids because they aren't completely American because they don't live in the US, and they're not completely Spanish because they have American parents. Their unique culture is a mixture of the two, which is called a "third culture."

Here are some stories from our experience as foreigners raising our kids in a foreign country:

Adriana - our toddler is not like the other kids
How to Make Long Distance Relationships Work
Spanglish - Alleke is the strange and exotic cousin who lives abroad
The Moon - looking for stability in a constantly changing environment
Airpain - our toddler the world traveler
Weed Eater - will my daughter have roots?
Hand Gestures - kids learning Spanish at the playground
Starting School in a Foreign Country - interviews with parents

See everything I've written about third culture kids...
