How do you make sure your child gets enough rest over the holidays with all the festivities and late nights?

we always took a portacrib if we were going to be out late. if it was just a long day of being gone, I would always pack a few favorite books and the snuggly blanket, find a quiet spot and read to my girls. Usually they would end up falling asleep in my arms, and it gave me a great excuse for some quiet time, myself!

You can try, but the real answer is – you don’t…..it is all part of the holiday…do you get enough sleep????!!!!!

Black-out curtains! Because of them, Giselle slept until 12:30 noon (right now) after staying up until 2:20 this morning! She still got her minimum of 10 hours of sleep in.

Thanks to all four of you for your suggestions. We used most of them, hanging in the balance between what Rebecca said about how no one gets enough sleep over the holidays and what baby advice said about always putting your child first.
Alleke did end up with a cough over the holidays, but she had lots of fun too.

This is a hard one but things that we try to do is get things done earlier. If you have a lot of family to see try and get some of them to go to your house so that if it gets to be bed time your child can still go to bed. If you are out try and find a place where your child can fall asleep. There is a lot going on right now, but your child’s needs still have to come first.
