Can we leave the house while Alleke is potty training?
Alleke is potty training. She still has occasionally accidents at home, usually because she doesn’t get to the bathroom fast enough. I don’t think we’ve been making this transition any easier for her because every time we leave the house, we put her back in diapers. I guess I’m not sure what we’re supposed to do, for example, if we’re at the playground, and she has to go to the bathroom (since the nearest bathroom is an 8 min. walk away). At this point in her potty training, she has to go when she has to go. She can’t wait very long.
Any suggestions on how to leave the house while your toddler is potty training, without setting him or her up for failure?

Yes, you want to leave the house so she knows that it is not just your toilet that she will be using. She needs to know and understand that their is more then your toilet that she will use.

In the end, we took the advice of a friend of ours who suggested having Alleke wear a cloth diaper cover over her underwear when we leave the house. This way she still gets soaked, but doesn’t leak.
I think we would have used training pants if we could have found them here in Madrid, but it wasn’t an option.
Saturday we went ice skating (gone from the house for 5 hours), and Alleke was dry the entire time. She’s learning!

Is the park very far? If not, I recommend no liquids for a good bit before hand and a trip to the bathroom just before you leave.
